To The Root, is the brainchild of Abena Bentley and Nadia Bunyan. Both tired of the lack of information available on this subject, especially in Canada, the two have taken the initiative to create this natural hair care website. With the help of friends and hair care professionals across North America, To The Root is a web-magazine that discusses different aspects of natural hair, its' care, maintenance and styling.

Mrs. CJ Walker, one of the first black women to recognize a need in the black community for proper hair care, once said " Don't sit down and wait for opportunities to come, but get up and make them!" With the resurging interest in natural hair and styling, we at To The Root believe that it is important to encourage this trend and celebrate the beauty of our naturally
